Christmas With a First Responder

At the Pikeville Police Department, we believe in giving back to our community, especially during the holiday season. Christmas with a First Responder is our annual outreach program dedicated to bringing joy to children and families in Pike County. Through this initiative, local first responders, including members of the Pikeville Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Safety (911 Dispatch), come together to ensure that children in need experience the magic of Christmas. For more information click here.

Who We Help
Each year, we partner with local schools, FRYSC Coordinators and organizations to identify families who could use extra support during the holidays. Children selected for the program are paired with a first responder for a special Christmas Party, where they receive Breakfast from McDonalds, Christmas Dinner Food box from Save A Lot, and of course a special delivery of Christmas Presents from Santa and the First Responders.

2024 Impact

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, our 2024 Christmas with a First Responder program was a huge success.

Total Funds Raised: $64,000
Total Given Back to the Community: Approximately $42,600
Children Sponsored: 107
Total Families helped: 51

Every year we also try to raise enough money to donate to everyone school in Pike County. All the 21 schools in Pike County receive a $500.00 Walmart Gift Card to assist in purchasing school supplies or other items the students may need.

Donations to Local Schools: $10,500

Every dollar raised went directly toward providing gifts and necessities for local children, making a tangible difference in their holiday experience.

The success of this program is made possible through generous donations and community- supported fundraising events, including:
