It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to support the City of Pikeville’s goals and vision through the development, implementation, and support of programs and processes that add value to the City and its employees, leading to improved employee welfare, empowerment, growth and retention.

The Human Resources Department focuses on ensuring a diverse workforce in a safe and discrimination-free and harassment-free environment while being compliant with employment laws and government regulations, providing training and development in areas of effective leadership and employee growth, hiring the most suitable and qualified employees through effective recruitment and interview processes, and retaining our valued employees by providing competitive benefits and wages, furnishing interpersonal and career development training/coaching, and enhancing two-way communication between employees and management.
