The City  Clerk’s office is responsible for maintaining non-tax related City of Pikeville records and other information concerning the community and its people.  The City Clerk plays an intricate role in the success and the operational functions of the community by recording City Commission meetings and following various procedures involving the Code of Ordinances that govern the City.  The Clerk’s office records and maintains various official documents such as minutes, resolutions, ordinances, proclamations, deeds, easements and many other documents that are public record as they are approved by the City Board of Commissioners. The City Clerk also has the responsibility to provide information to citizens, fellow employees, and other public entities.  The documents that are recorded, as mentioned above, become public record with their adoption and/or approval by the City Commission, and it is the Clerk’s duty to provide this information to the public upon request or as outlined in the law.
