CHAPLAIN: BILLY RATLIFF
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAPLAIN:
Prayer
With recent issues appearing in main stream news about prayer and taking it away, many thoughts and bible verses about the purpose, power and need for prayer come to mind.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 tells us plainly to pray “pray without ceasing” and to give thanks for everything and that it is the will of God.
The book of James also states it clearly that we are to pray for one another. It also tells us that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16
In these times in which we see more and more about the removal of religion a couple verses stick out concerning this.
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24 KJV
That time is now.
I would challenge anyone to read the 86th Psalm. It speaks volumes for the power of prayer.
