This class is for complete beginners and experienced combatants looking to improve their unarmed fighting skills and discover the tools to wield a broadsword. Unarmed combat is the most sought after skill set for fight performers with broadsword trialing close behind. This course will cover all the essential basics to build your abilities in order to make you a more believable fighter. We focus on slaps\, punches\, kicks\, and finishing moves for unarmed and basic offense and defense for broadswords while incorporating these moves into dramatic scenes. While exploring topics such as character objective\, fight rhythm\, and staging\, our actors will learn to create a fight where they are connected and truthful and\, therefore\, more engaging to an audience. There will be a culminating performance to showcase the training received during this class. Class meets three times a week for 10 weeks. DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of creating stained glass art and complete a project of your own! The Stained Glass Workshop will be held at the Pike County Public Library (Lee Avenue) on March 25th. There will be a session at 10:00 and another at 2:00. Space is limited\, so please call the library to register. 437-6001\nWhat You Need to Know:\n+To ensure materials and space for participants\, we can only take a limited number of patrons. Registration is required.\n+You will be cutting glass and using a soldering iron to piece it together. You might get a minor cut or burn! It is the nature of the craft. Most injuries are about the equivalent of a paper cut. However\, to ensure you are aware of this\, you must sign a waiver to participate.\n+This activity is not suitable for children. Participants must be at least 14 years old.\n+The workshop will last 3.5 hours. Depending on your pace and skill\, you may finish your project sooner. You are free to leave earlier!\n+There is no fee to come to the workshop and all materials are provided.\n+Project ideas and templates are available. You are also free to bring your own pattern or idea to make.\n+Projects must be kept small in order to be completed during the time frame of the workshop.

In this class\, you will learn the following: how to use your body and voice to express a full emotional range\, basic script analysis\, what it means to overcome obstacles\, the incorporation of tactics\, secrets\, and objectives\, and why it is important to make bold choices. This class will meet two times per week for 10 weeks.
