Persons interested in employment with the Department must meet the Peace Officer’s Professional Standards as mandated by Kentucky Statute to be a certified Peace Officer. At a minimum a person would meet the following:
1. Citizen of the United States
2. 21 years of age
3. High School diploma or G.E.D. ( College education Preferred)
4. Possess a valid vehicle operator’s License
5. No felony convictions
6. Not prohibited from possessing a firearm by State or Federal law
7. Honorable discharge if prior military service
8. Never having Peace Officer Certification revoked
9. Background Investigation:
to include fingerprints, interviews, social & work history
10. Medical Examination
11. Suitability Screener
12. Pass physical agility test
13. Pass drug screen
14. Pass polygraph examination
