911 Public Safety Department
The Pikeville 911 Public Safety Department is comprised of the 911 Center and Emergency Management for the City of Pikeville. The Pikeville 911 Public Safety Director, Paul Maynard has a current staff of five employees. The 911 Center handles Police, Fire/EMS, Animal Control, and after hours utilities. Each employee is a certified Tele communicator through Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky. They are trained in Basic Telecommunication, Critical Incidents, CPR, Emergency Medical Dispatch, and Criminal Justice Information System. Each employee also attends annual re-training. In the fall of 2008 the department completed a state of the art renovation of the Center at a total cost of approx. $400,000. The department utilizes Interact Computer Dispatch System, ModuComm 911/Radio system, and DSS Equature recording system.
Pikeville 911 Public Safety Department will serve the community 24/7 with both emergency and non-emergency service calls for service through the dispatch center with professional courteous manner.
